Daily Oral Hygiene Fundamentals
Good oral health begins at home. Brush your teeth twice a day using a soft-bristled toothbrush and a fluoride toothpaste, spending at least two minutes covering every surface. Hold the brush at a forty-five degree angle to the gum line and use gentle circular motions; aggressive scrubbing wears enamel and recedes gums over time. Floss at least once daily, ideally before bed, to remove plaque and food debris from between teeth where a brush cannot reach. If you find traditional floss difficult, interdental brushes or a water flosser are effective alternatives. Replace your toothbrush or electric brush head every three months, or sooner if the bristles fray.
